This class was "Vintage Metal Treasure Deck" taught by Leighanna Light. I have made ATC's before, but didn't think I would ever make a Metal one. I got a slow start in this class, mostly trying to do the rusting technique which didn't really work well for me. I preferred the gesso techniques. Once I got started, I got quite a few done and bought 2 more metal "decks" to hopefully make more in the future.

Art & Soul - Traci Bautista Class
I have taken many of Traci's classes and Always enjoy them. This was a small book we made using Traci's painting techniques. I have several additional signatures painted, but I need to add those yet.

I Enjoyed the patchwork arrangement of our papers on this book. And I always seem to love books with beads & fibers attached. I used parts of old earrings I have stored in a box for my projects. And I still need to add some more.
Art & Soul Portland - Misty Mawn Class
I went to Art & Soul in Portland in October and had a Wonderful Time! I came home to an income tax deadline for extension tax returns and am only now getting to finally post some pictures and reviews of the classes I took.

The 2 top pictures are of some backgrounds. The picture to the left is one I drew the face on, then Misty "fixed" my shadowing & made it look like a real face! I was Thrilled to see the transformation. The picture on the right is another one I started. My shading is actually Much better than the first one, but I had just started & need to do more work on this one.
MISTY MAWN Class: This was the first class I had taken with Misty and I found her very sweet, helpful and Talented! She gave us so many techniques I Wish I had taken notes! I just kept trying them all and of course, now that I'm home & back to work, I forget many of them. But I enjoyed the class enough that I have signed up to take more classes from her at Asilomar in April. Along with more of the background techniques, I Hope to learn how to shade a face to make it look like a face & not a flat, whiteface mime. :-)

Art Unravelled Projects

This class was Book of the Old World by Lisa Renner who was Absolutely Charming! She had MANY supplies all ready for us, plenty of space and spent time with each of us throughout the day. We used encaustic was both on the outside of the book as well as on all of the pages. I find I Love encaustic wax!

This was a FUN class taught be Gail Russakov! We cut images from magazines & placed them in various spots on a gessoed canvas. We then added other rectangles of various decorative papers. We altered the mazazine pictures in various ways which created wonderful texture! I still need to add some mini beads and/or maybe a crystal. I am excited to make another one of these!

Moo cards
These are 4 Moo Card designs I traded at Art Unravelled in August. I hope to do a few more designs for Art & Soul in Portland in October. They are done through Flickr.com. People at AU had punched theirs & carried them around on large rings to trade. Some people added fibers. I want to overstamp mine with gold ink & punch holes now that I've seen what they are. :-)

Tagged by Maggi
I've been tagged by Maggie so here are 10 things people might not know about me:
1. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska when it was still a territory. I have met a client my same age who was born in the same hospital!
2. I am adopted and have known that since I can remember.
3. I've never searched for my birth parents, but know my birth name was Katherine Ann. I unfortunately lost my adoption papers in Mexico a couple of years ago. :-(
4. I wanted to be an Art major in school, but my mom pulled me out of art classes & put me in college prep. Now I'm an accountant by vocation, but an "artist" by avocation.
5. I Love watching Football but have found the past couple of years I must be a fair weather fan. It has become just Frustrating watching the 49ers & the Raiders loose all the time. LOL
6. I have come to Love kayaking & hope to do Much More of it!
7. I love the Sun, hot weather and being near water!
8. I love French Fries more than chocolate! Fat vs. Sweet for me = Fat! No Wonder I've gained weight!
9. I love country music & have for over 15 years.
10. And I drink too much wine. And per #9, it's now 5 O'Clock Somewhere! Time for a bit of Chardonnay. :-)
10ish---An addition, I Too, per Maggi's tagged post.......have watched Days of our Lives since the beginning! I was at home sick, watching it when JFK was shot. I'll never forget my soap being interrupted, then realizing the seriousness of it. I Still watch DOL..........but periodically now. Although Doug & Julie are back. :-) Memories of the good old days. LOL
